This workshop will teach how to
take your old or scrap silver and transform it into a beautiful hand formed
bracelet. In this two day workshop, we
will learn to safely melt silver and pour ingots, then use rolling mills and
hammers to shape and form the metals into bracelets.
This working is economical and
practical for metalsmiths to transform what many mistakenly view as scrap into
finished custom designed objects.
Although we focus on bracelets in this workshop, this technique is
applicable to rings, necklaces, pins and many other types of metalwork. This is foundational in your education as a
metalsmith and will serve you continually.
About the Alcademy: “This
metalsmithing school has arrived out of my drive to share my knowledge, skills,
tools and self! After completing my
degrees in Metalsmithing from Western Michigan University in 1974, I focused on
Celtic Design and contemporary goldsmithing for many years. In the last few years, I’ve refocused into
metaphysical and spiritual sacred geometric design. With my 40 plus years of experience, I’ve
come to a point where teaching is the best way for me to express and pass on
all of the technical, metaphysical and alchemical treasures that I’ve
accumulated. In so many ways, the Alcademy
is a new and exciting beginning for me. It
is one I hope to share with new and excited people who can learn and grow with me
and the new school.”
